Learning Objectives:

 The presentation will engage the audience to examine how they are measuring their safety program to demonstrate organizational value. Jim Smith will share his experience on why we measure safety performance and provide different examples of how to measure your safety program.  This presentation is intended to engage the audience to consider moving away from just using or measuring OSHA Incident Rates to gauge your safety program.

Gallagher National Risk Control Regional Leader – Past President ASSP 2017-2018

 Jim has 38 years of experience in the risk management and safety industry. He is a past President/Board Chairman of ASSP in 2017-2018. He was the ASSP Global Safety Professional of the year in 2004. He won the President Awards in 2010 and 2012. Jim is a member of several American National Safety Standards. He has a Bachelors and Masters of Science Degree in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Missouri. As a Certified Safety Professional, Jim is a Board Advisor on the Workers Compensation Institute as well as an Advisor for Embry-Riddle University and East Carolina University. Jim is also the author of Gap Analysis Measuring Safety Program Effectiveness and an experienced National Speaker.
