Job Description:

The Office of Radiological Health (ORH) licenses and inspects more than 7,000 facilities using
radioactive materials and x-ray producing equipment throughout New York City to ensure
compliance with public health and safety regulations. The program is managed in accordance
with statutory authority, delegations from, or agreements with NRC, FDA, and NY State Bureau
of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (ESE) is looking to hire a Scientist Level II for the
Office of Radiological Health (ORH). The candidate will inspect medical and research facilities
that use radiation producing equipment, assess compliance with New York City Health Code and
other applicable regulations, and ensure the safety of patients, staff and the public. This position
plays a critical role in protecting public health by ensuring that facilities are properly registered
and are implementing policies and procedures that reduce unnecessary exposure to ionizing
radiation.

Duties Will Include but Not Be Limited To:

  1. Schedule and inspect facilities that use radiation-producing equipment throughout New York
    City for compliance with NYC Health Code and applicable State and Federal regulations.
  2. Perform on-site tests of radiation-producing equipment installations.
  3. Review and verify facility license and registration information and evaluate quality control
    procedures.
  4. Prepare reports of inspection using agency protocols, forms and tools.
  5. Prepare and serve court summons and tribunal hearing notices when specific violations of
    applicable City, State and Federal laws and regulations are found, and appear before tribunal
    to testify when necessary.
  6. Participate in emergency training exercises and drills and assist in emergency response.
  7. Operating a motor vehicle to perform job duties.

Job Description: United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE is accepting applications for the position of Business
Representative for Scene Shops and Safety.

The Business Representative for Safety and Scene Shops reports to the National Business Agent and actively
collaborates with other USA 829 Business Representatives, the Organizer, and the greater IATSE to increase union
density at independent scene shops and also at those connected to institutional theaters and opera companies
nationwide. This position is also responsible for addressing and driving safety issues that arise on worksites as well as
comprehensively elevating safety as a union campaign and ongoing educational initiative.

This position interacts with and provides training and safety information for members in all categories, nationwide.

Description of Duties:

Safety Representative

  • Conduct regular site visits to members’ work sites to investigate safety issues and concerns.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of several collective bargaining agreements with
    independent scene shops and at scene shops connected to institutional theatre and opera
    companies.
  • Enforce contracts as well as guide grievance processing and handling.
  • Conduct worksite visits regularly for contract compliance and safety-related issues, and file

The office leads occupational health and safety compliance, operational and construction safety, fire prevention, environmental safety, safety training, and other risk management and assurance functions across the agency. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is seeking an experienced construction safety leader to serve as Program Director, Construction Safety Management. This role requires a proven track record of leading complex construction safety programs, driving strategic initiatives, and building strong partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director, Safety Management Office, the Program Director, Construction Safety Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing construction safety strategy, operations, and risk management across the agency’s capital, redevelopment, and construction programs. What You’ll Do

  • Oversee safety compliance for workplace repairs, installations, construction projects, and operational activities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety policies, procedures, and risk management programs
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and workplace risk assessments
  • Monitor workplace conditions and recommend corrective actions to reduce hazards
  • Lead investigations into workplace injuries, illnesses, accidents, and near-miss incidents
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive action plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, safety procedures, and compliance activities
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, follow-up, and return-to-work programs
  • Serve as liaison between employees, leadership, insurance carriers, legal counsel, medical providers, and brokers
  • Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs and ensure timely OSHA reporting compliance
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly safety meetings and ongoing safety training programs
  • Manage hazard communication programs, SDS documentation, and compliance training records
  • Analyze safety trends and recommend risk reduction strategies
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Travel between company properties as required
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Risk Management, Occupational Health, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in Safety, Risk Management, Loss Control, or related field required
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ADA compliance requirements, and workplace safety standards
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation, liability, property, and casualty claims
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conduct investigations, analyze data, and develop effective corrective actions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to leadership
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and build strong working relationships
  • Proficiency with computers, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, and computer use throughout the workday. Duties may include reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting materials or equipment as needed.

Ability to lift/carry:

  • Up to 50 lbs occasionally

Must be comfortable traveling between multiple company properties and conducting on-site safety inspections in various operational environments.

  • Work is performed in office, casino, hotel, and operational environments
  • Frequent computer and administrative work required
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and active operational settings
  • Position requires travel between multiple company locations

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs
  • Moderate travel between properties required
