Speaker Marie Milord, CSP, SMP, CHST
Marie Milord is a seasoned safety professional with over a decade of experience leading the development of integrated safety systems that align regulatory compliance, psychological safety, and human performance. Her career spans the utility, transit, and construction sectors, where she has served in field, union, and operational support roles with organizations including National Grid, New York City Transit (NYCT), the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and major general contractors across the tri-state area and globally.
Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, Safety & Sustainability, Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP, SMS) credentials, and executive training in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School. She also maintains OSHA instructor authorizations and NYC Department of Buildings qualifications, bringing both technical depth and leadership insight to her work.
Nominated as Safety Professional of the Year, Marie is recognized for advancing Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS), and psychological safety across high-risk industries. Her work bridges frontline realities with executive strategy—driving cultural transformation, operational resilience, and emotionally intelligent workers and leadership.
Through her interactive training approach, Marie blends real-world experience with systems-level thinking to empower teams to reduce and use errors to strengthen communication, and build cultures of learning and continuous improvement.
